AC Mains Power Controller - Holton Audio Power One R4
The HPA-Power One mains controller R4 is designed to allow the use of low current, low voltage switches to control the AC mains and allow the mains to be powered on and off with the standard 12 volt trigger found on most pre-amps and AV sound processors and some DACs.
This new updated power controller now has a much higher power AC mains current limiter built into the power controller.
This keeps to a bare minimum the mains wiring required to get this very important part of the amplifier built.
The AC mains current limiter now has double the amount of current limiting thermistors.
The limiter side of the power controller has been tested with as much as 160,000uf in total and powering two 500VA or one 1kva toroidal transformers without breaking a sweat.
The R4.0 controller now has a foot print measuring 165mm x 58mm printed circuit board and has addition AC mains connectors to power as many as two large toroidal transformers.
The Power One controller R4.0 can also be used with any mains powered switching power supplies on the market.
In addition to doing this the mains controller has a six channel DC offset detection circuit which can monitor the amplifier outputs and in the event of an amplifier fault will power down the AC mains.
The DC detection circuit can also be used as an over temperature detection as well by using a normally open thermal switch which is connected to one of the six detection channels.
The mains controller is compatible with worldwide AC mains 110VAC - 120VAC 60Hz to 220VAC - 240VAC 50Hz.
Also the new R4.0 controller has been upgraded with high quality quick screw down terminals for a 6 channel DC detection, +12v trigger input and low current soft power On/Off Switch.
This makes it so much easier to terminate these connections without the need to solder the terminations.
